Is there a difference between Alcoholic Poisoning and Terrible Hangovers?

I ask as after drinking just 3 or 4 glasses of wine I am now violently I'll the following day.

I'm 46 and have always been prone to hangovers but it's got so much worse that I haven't had a drink in 6 weeks.
