Evening Primrose Oil

I've just started taking it because PMS is REALLY bad since periods returned after Dd but am feeling really angry and short tempered after only a couple of days of taking it and it should be my happy time! Could this possibly be the Evening Primrose Oil or just one of those things? Has this happened to anyone else? Does it work anyway?

I doubt it will the EPO so soon. I think you need to take it for longer than this anyway for the results to become effective.

Can't say re PMT but it definitely helped me with pre-AF breast pain.

Stick with it - just have a good rant and rage on here!

I took it for a while for breast lumpiness/pain, but suffered from terrible migraines, which can apparently be a side effect, although not inevitably. Anyway, gave it up, and just can't lie on my front the week before my period

Agree with Because, why not wait a month or two to see how it suits you.

Thanks, will definatly keep taking it because I'm finding the anger horrific and am desperatly hoping it will help. Interested in the migrane though, have had a headache all day though it could be the drinks I had last night!

EPO does work, brilliantly - but you'll negate it completely if you drink too much booze - I find that always makes PMT / periods so much worse, personally...

Yikes, should I avoid alcohol at those times or altogether? Actually, I know the answer to that, but do you think it would help to do selective avoidance?

Definitely. I read recently (I think BBC news online) that alcohol increases testosterone levels in women by something like 50% (depending on how much consumed) and that is sure to be a negative impact on already existing PMT, no?

I hope the EPO helps. Keep at it - it takes a few weeks of taking it to make a difference. A friend of mine takes 1000mls per DAY every day of the month (perhaps a little high, that dose) and swears it keeps her completely sane...
