Bloody PMT, I've got this rage bubbling away and I'm scared I'm going to lose it!

Oh is it your birthday? Many happy returns to you. Can small people be plonked in front of something suitably mind-numbing while you have a bath/cup of tea/chocolate/lie down?

Can't help with the rage- I'm 20wks pg and could happily strangle most passing strangers for committing various misdemeanours. In all seriousness, neon leg warmers had me itching to punch the wearer of them so DH and his leaving his dressing gown on the bathroom floor nearly gave me a stroke.

It's my birthday on Sunday and I may celebrate by screaming with rage at a hapless stranger.

You have my sympathy.

Oh God rickman....i know excatly how you feel.
It scares me that my PMT will return once this baby is born. It has got worse after each baby so I really have no idea what level of hell I'll create every month in thenew year.
It's impossible to keep a lid on it IMO.
Nothing works for me. If I go out I just scream and shout at them all outside...I have no control over it.

I wish I had asuggestion for you to make your birthday happier/easier/nicier but I'm afraid I haven't. PMT is a shitter...especially when it's on your birthday.

Can you just close the door on the kids and sit atthe PC/in the kitchen/livingroom/anywhere and chill out. Sod the house work and all taht today.
Just supply food and drink so they won't moan and ignore them.
Thast what I've been doing for the last few day. Ok...so it means my kids have been eating utter crap but if they leave me alone that thats fine!

I was talking to dh about pmt last night, I worked out that I was going to get it just before Christmas and said to him "I apologise in advance for what I am going to be like over the next few days"

This makes it sound as tho' it can be controlled, but it can't. It's the most bloody horrible feeling and it just builds up inside you.

I'm sorry that you are having this on your birthday (HAppy Birhtday BTW )

How old are your children?

back away from the Red Mist

I am VILE with PMT so I do sympathise

I use chocolate, very very good high cocoa chocolate as a medicine. I think it affects the happy centre in the brain and is also something just for me, IYSWIM, and gives me a moment to calm down and stop wanting to kill other people.

Bloody hormones

lol LetitShnow. Sorry. But agree about the legwarmers in any circumstances.

Rickman, eat all the remaining chocolate in the house, bury your head in a pillow and scream

"YOU ARE ALL FCKIN' BSTARDS!"

at top of your lungs. Not to your darlings in particular, of course, just the world in general.

Twill help.

Good luck.

Happy Birthday Rickman - and may i just add my voice to these other lovely MNers who have periods from hell! I am a bitch for at least 2 weeks before my period and then whilst i'm on as well cos of the pain. That's in between crying as i cry at anything and everything usually but at that time of the month, even more so.

I now warn my work colleagues and they know that if they want anything done, for example stuff taken back to a shop, someone's ar*e kicking, then to wait until my most aggressive/pathetic time of the month and i'll do it for them.

I really hope you have a wonderful time tonight - maybe the day is not totally lost yet eh? I can't remember the last time i went out either, so please have one (or 6) for me! Happy Birthday. x
