Pain in middle/upper abdominal area

I gave birth to my son 5 months ago. The birth was pretty horrific, I lost a lot of blood and my uterus didn't work as it should so I have been told that I will have to have a c section with any future children.

I don't know if it is linked but ever since I have had pains (stabbing, sharp pains, very tender to touch) in my upper and middle abdomen. This has got progressively worse over the last 3 weeks.

I went to the doctors last week after 2 weeks of trying to get an appointment and was told (rather rudely) that she didn't know what it was so would treat it as a water infection (I had recurrent water infections for about 5 years so I know it's definitely not this) and was fobbed off with antibiotics which haven't made any difference.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Could be gall stones, usually pain in right shoulder, gets worse after greecy food?

Have you considered indigestion, or gastritis? Is the pain worse when your stomach is empty, then better after you eat something?
Do you feel full quite soon after eating a moderate amount?
Do you drink a lot of coffee, see if it is worse after coffee.
You could try Gaviscon 3 times a day for a couple of days and see if that makes a difference, at least then you would know it is stomach related...or not. Or something like Nexium over the counter again to see if stomach acid is the problem.
If was uterus-related the pain would be further down. The stomach is just below the ribs and a bit to our left hand side. Do you eat late at night? Are you breastfeeding?

I have found the source of the pain... Turns out I'm pregnant!

I had similar pain with DS but didn't even click, thought I would do a pregnancy test just to rule that out in case the doctors asked.

Shocked doesn't even cover how I am feeling right now.

Well holy cow. Looks like you will be back on the gaviscon then. Best of luck.
