I have been suffering with d&v since friday morning obviously from spending too much time in the infectious disease unit last week!!!

dh has gone to work, kids are in school/childminder and I have managed to crawl to the pc for the first time in days.

dr has asked for a sample, and guess what after spending 3 days on the toilet I now cant go

Wrap yourself up in a big warm jumper, have some fruit and keep the fluids up. Hope you feel better soon.

Maybe you will loose weight? Would that be a good thing??

Huge sympathies. Now I know this tastes pretty unpleasant but one thing I have found that helps when you have prolonged D&V is rice water. Basically just the water you have used to boil up some rice. It sort of lines your stomach and really helps.

Maybe if you can't go, you're starting to get over it?! Oh yes, sympathy, poor, poor you [gente (as not to induce vomit) rub on the back]

My sympathy to you - d and v is horrid. I am sitting here in my pjs, feeling very sorry for myself too. I've got a cold , just a cold, but is a stinker, I'm hot and cold, achey and streaming. I was coming on to ask for some virtual sympathy too, but I offer a vitual hug to you instead - promise I won't sneeze on you!

I've had all that hot and cold stuff too, driving dh mad shouting 'turn the bloody heating off' then 5 minutes later 'turn it on its freezing'

What about some mash potato? Lots of butter and cheese in it should add some calories to build yourself up again.

It actually doesn't taste too bad, just a bit gloopy in texture, but it really helps. PandaG I too have a streaming cold, headache, sore throat and the shivers, plus the clutch on my car has gone so had to get it towed to the garage this morning. No idea what it will cost (not what I needed just before christmas). But on the bright side ds (almost 2) gotto ride upfront in the tow truck which he loved.

Lots of sympathy from me - I had the 'd' bit but not the 'v' last week and it was horrid. They don't taste particularly nice but ORT sachets are good to get you rehydrated again. Get well soon!

How you doing today Mosschops? Is your cold/car any better today COV? - I am still feeling crappy!

hey panda hope you are wrapped up under a blanket whilst you tap away on mn

dh cooked me mashed potato and beans last night (which is his culinary limit lol) and I managed that, had some breakfast today, but not much for lunch. Have the worst backache ever now, dont know if thats because of the d&v or not, might have to go to docs.

Yep Mosschops, wrapped up, hot Ribena (full sugar as that is what my mum used to buy when I was ill and anything else including cheaper brands just doesn't compare!), large box of tissues and overflowing bin of used ones.

Glad you've eaten something, hope the backache eases soon
