Oh don't scald yourself!!!!! Honey and lemon - the real stuff, not packet nonsense. And just resting your voice helps your throat, but not your sanity! (I've been there - it's a nightmare stopping fights with no shout!)

That is a slice of lemon (pref organic or at least scrubbed), a spoonful of honey (pref not supermarket stuff as this is mostly sugar) - mash them together for a few minutes then add hot, not boiling water and drink as hot as poss (but not scalding!)
Manuka honey is suipposed to be great but it is so expensive I've never bouight it.

I'm so frustrated! it didn't work anyway, was enjoybly rather than painfully hot. I can't rest my voice at ll, ds 1 demands replies, thren doesn't listen to them.

I made some honey and lemon yesterday, it didn't really help, but thanks for the tip I will try it again.

had to laugh at this

I had larangitus recently & completely lost my voice for over a week !!!
I ended up clapping & stamping foot & pointing - my children soon "listened" to what I was saying

hope you get your voice back soon

I posted yesterday saying: how can I get my voice back? I've lost it since Sunday and it is driving me mad. The kids are going bonkers and other thank clicking fingers or stamping feet they just don't notice me there. And then they want me to read one besquillion stories and sing songs. Not.

When will it come back? When?????
