I had my lower right wisdom tooth out in hospital under a local anaesthetic two weeks ago today. It was relatively straight-forward, I had a couple of stitches and was OK for a couple of days. Then I developed a dry socket, which was excruciating. It was packed once, but most of it fell out after about 15 mins because the dentist couldn't get past the stitches and they were too painful to take out. I managed by making sure I didn't have any minute of the day not covered by pain killers, using ibuprofen and paracetamol, being scrupulous with dental hygiene and salt water rinses and it gradually got less painful. I took my last painkiller on Friday, 10 days after the extraction. But since I had the tooth out, I feel SO TIRED. I just don't have any energy. Has anyone else experienced this? Can it really take so long to feel normal after just 1 wisdom tooth extraction? I could understand it more if I'd had sedation/GA, but not with a local. I still have a hole in my gum and the stitches, but the dry socket must be healing as it's not hurting any more. Is this just co-incidence can it really make you feel this tired?
