T wasn't the benzoyl peroxide one. It was some kind of powder- like bicarbonate of soda but not that? Began with an m maybe? I just can't find the thread.....

No idea but I've had a near miraculous improvement from my horrid hormonal spots using Duac gel which is now re available from my GP.

Also had some serious facials and been vigilant with skincare but really think it's the gel that's seen the bloody spots off. Hurrah. Smile

Thanks for all these suggestions. Someone had recommended some kind of hard to get powder which you make into a paste. Noone remember?

Crushed aspirin? Works wonders for reducing redness.

Crush a tablet, wet the area and use your finger to blob it on.

OP I am just bumping for you. I have been racking my brains, but of all the "cures" I have heard of yours doesn't ring a bell.
It wasn't fullers earth mixed into a paste and used as a mask ?
or sulphur blooms mixed with water as a lotion ?
I have lots of "cures" that worked for some people, in some cases miraculously, but they never did for me.
I am 52 and still spotty Sad

After years of painful acne on my face, neck, chest and shoulders I went to see on Dr who prescribed me roaccutane. It was amazing. Not a drug to be taken lightly but your Dr will explain all that. I have not had an acne problem since.

Lots of people recommend hibiscrub. Could that be it?

Is the paste magnesium sulphate? You buy it in tiny jars from the chemist for about ÂŁ1. It is used for drawing pus out of boils etc. I don't know if it would be suitable for more general acne treatment.

Sudocreme can be good. Slather it on at bedtime and wash off in the morning.

X3 I still get the occasional pimple but really the effect was amazing. I had an extended course (9 months) and afterwards it cleared right up. In actual fact while I was taking it I didn't see any difference. I was 25 at the time and ten years later I can say it has not come back.
