Whats wrong with me and how do I make it right

I just don't have any energy, can't even be bothered to eat. No enuthism for anything. Tired even when I've sleep. Worse when my periods here and have very heavy bleeding. Grumpy or miserable 99.9% of the time.

Any ideas?

Could be depression, anaemia, underactive thyroid ... any number of things. Go and get the GP to do some blood tests for anaemia and thyroid function.

Underactive thyroid can cause depression and the feelings that you describe. Please get the GP to run some blood tests.

It can make you put on weight but it doesn't always. Sometimes you get no symptoms at all ... I had none.

Could well be anaemia. I was recently tested & while not clinically anaemic, my levels were dragging right along the very bottom of the acceptable range. I felt exactly like you describe MaryPop1 & even assumed that my ADs weren't working properly. However, since taking a liquid iron supplement I am like a new woman! I have a lovely pink tongue again, my nails are pink & I have returned to being full of beans.
Hope your GP can give you some help.

I've just started the liquid iron and have been eating marmite for the last 2 days. Takes a bit longer I think

GP sent me for a blood test. Thinks it iron. Have to admit since taking the liquid iron, eating chard and spinach feel much better. It's been creeping up on me and only when my period came did I stop to think how rubbish I had feeling.

Thank you for caring,

MaryPop

It does sound like anemia - you can get a simple blood test from your GP to see your iron levels...
