Very pale tongue not coated just like no blood in it - anyone else? It used to be normal looking.

Dentist commented on it but just asked if i was stressed! Am always stressed but wasn't for weeks until she asked! Want to go to docs but dentist not overly concerned and doc probably think I am daft. Wondering about hygiene as a cause as often cant brush properly due to anxiety making me gag especially now!

It's a sign of anaemia. If you gently pull down on the skin below your eye so you can see the skin that normally touches your eyeball, is that pale too?
Worth going to get a blood test for, dentist was probably asking about other symptoms of anemia, such as sometimes feeling generally run down with no energy, sometimes irritable, sleepy during the day, etc. (Also periods can be more painful and heavy).

Anxiety can be due to a wide range of factors, you really need to see a doctor who can look at your medical history and run checks to rule out/identify physical causes.

Thanks yegodsandlittlefishes Have wondered about anaemia but mine have always been pale. Began to panic about liver problems as something i read so decided to come here instead and ask MNetters.
