Hi Yorkiegirl, well done for getting a cancellation!

My ds had his grommets done in October, and life dramatically changed for all of us!! He was a bit drunk when he came out of the anaeasthetic, but it was very quick and very straightforward.

Best of all he has been fighting fit for the past year.

Best of luck for DD2. x

Great news Yorkiegirl... Your dd2 will never look back after the op - and neither will you. My dd1 had them in september last year as she couldn't hear therefore wasn't talking much and what she did say sounded like gobbledegook!! Now she is chattering away and can be understood by everyone. She went for her 12 month check and they discharged her - hope it goes in a similar vein for your dd2 xx

Great news for you. Grommets utterly transformed a child I taught last year and my friend's son said " Mummy I never knew the birds sang!" after his were fitted. So hope you are all out listening to the birds and much more soon.

Depending on how it's done she might. DS had an op last year and the anasthetic bit was traumatic for me. The put "magic cream" on him for 3 hours but then couldn't find veins anyway. Then tried mask - terrified him. Then a much oldr guy took over - mid/late sixties - and did through veins in wrist. DS said "why are you doing this to me?" - I was in a real state.

Op went fine.

DS came round from anasthethic and was fine.

Now remembers it all but thinks it's funny - all he remembers is the mask and that once the "nice" man gave the jab in his wrist the other man forgot to put the mask on! He even remembers saying "why are you doing this to me? but thinks it's funny.

It will be MUCH more traumatic for you. DD will be fine!
