Diarrhea happening a lot IBS or bowel cancer?

I had a bout of it 5 or 6 weeks ago and was put down to being on diclofenic for 7 weeks. Something seemed to settle but am still getting occasions where I get stomach ache and have to go straight away. Not always watery (sorry!) but never hard. Tonight have had two trips within an hour of each other with diarrhea. Quite often lots of wind too. Am really worried about bowel cancer x

I'd get back to the docs. Unlikely to be cancer, a check up will set your mind at rest.

You need to look at your diet.

I have had IBS for years, it has really started to assert itself this year.

In recent times the culprits that have laid me low are,

Peanuts I know, I know, but they hadn't bothered me for years. Result CARNAGE

Was uber careful for about two weeks and then had peanut butter on wholemeal toast Result, semi carnage

All well for a few weeks and then I ate hummus and OMG, Montezuma's revenge...

It's unlikely to be bowel cancer, but you need to get it checked out.
I had diarrhoea for 18 months and it had progressively gotten worse before I plucked up the courage to go to the GP. I had a blood test and was referred to the consultant gastroenterologist within weeks. I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy which found I had ulcerative colitis and am on medication now but don't be put off from seeing your GP.

If I'd known how easy it was to get sorted I'd have done it ages before.

I have regular blood tests as I have ankylosing spondylitis and they are all fine. Also had a stool sample sent off which came back clear x

Don't panic, there are many other treatable conditions in between IBS and bowel cancer.

You are right to be concerned and to get yourself looked at, but please don't worry unduly.

Sorry to be so over the top, I've had so much investigated due to my ankylosing spondylitis. I'm just a bit fed up of worrying. My bowels are about the only thing they haven't looked at x

Hi just to say I'm going through the same thing.

Been told for years it's ibs. Then I had a stool sample tested for inflammation marker and it's come back positive. I've been referred to gastro now too for colonoscopy. I'm having diareah almost daily, can't eat any fruit or raw veg without it running through me. Also have tummy pains, bloating.

Did you gp say how long for app? Apparently mine will be 2-3 weeks.

Thanks guys, I think deep down I know it could be lots of things but I've had so many problems of late it's hard to think straight.
Doc seemed to think 4-6 weeks for an appt x
