Mole removal for teenager

DS (15) has a small (1mm) raised mole on his upper lip. He hasn't started shaving yet, but when he does it will be inevitable that the mole gets shaved off won't it? Will this be safe? I asked my GP last year about having it removed but was scorned.

My DS has some small, raised moles on his face, he's been shaving a couple of years now using an electric shaver with no problems. I wouldn't want him to have surgery unless it was essential as it would be likely to scar and that, in itself, could cause issues when shaving.
I would suggest you start your DS off with an electric shaver until he gets used to it which will reduce the risk of cutting the mole. I would think there are a number of men who manage to shave without slicing the top of their moles. If they do, then I would not think it would be dangerous or Doctors would suggest removal.
