Has anyone found that any supplements have helped relieve symptoms?

I've been taking flurodix for the iron and folic acid. I was wondering if it was worth trying cod liver oil to help with joint pain?

Any other recommendations or experiences?

Have you had your vitamin D checked? There is a strong possibility that you will be deficient and in need of much more supplementation than cod liver oil can supply.

Do you know what your thyroid levels are like?

Yep - vit d is fine and thyroid is within normal levels.

I have had some success with Biocare 'mitoguard' and 'one a day' mulitvit. I recommend Dr Myhill as well.

Good Luck

Thanks for that recommendation.
I'm on nortriptyline which seems to be managing the pain mostly. Will I be ok to take the mitoguard alongside them?

I've been referred to the specialist clinic. Is it worth waiting to see them before I contact Dr Hill?

I would check with whoever prescribed you the nortriptyline before taking anything else.

I would start by reading all the information on Dr Myhills website while you wait for your appointment at the specialist clinic. There is loads of interesting stuff plus, at one time, a downloadable guide to CFS.

As yet there has been no definitive answer to CFS though quit a few very different theories. Whatever treatment you try its always good to keep asking yourself is this working for me? As its easy to get lost in an exhaustion blur.

Hope it works out for you.

Essential fatty acids improve my brainfog a little. I also read Dr Myhill's website.

I also rate Dr Myhill's site for advice along with Dr Teitelbaums site and his SHINE protocol. I took on board as many of the recommendations as possible (some need a GP to help), and had advice from a nutritionalist (Almond Finger). I presume if you have checked your vit D status you have also checked vit B12 status? I do think you have to be quite careful, and for me getting nutritional help along side medical help was important. I take (or have taken) vit D, B12, B vits, pantothenic acid (a B vit not usually in general vits) C vits, Magnesium, L carnitine, ALA, (both fatty acids I think)and now I take D-ribose (the sugar in RNA/DNA) - which works for me. My CFS clinic were not able to help with nutritional or supplement advice, but some can. The book 'From Fatigued to Fantastic'by Jacob Teitelbaum, is technical (and heavy) but helpful. Good luck!

Thanks - that's great.

I do need to look at my nutrition as my appetite had disappeared recently. I put that down to not using up so many calories as I'm not as active any more. I reckon I'm probably averaging less than 1000 calories a day -made up of toast, honey, berries and oranges. Not the best by any stretch of the imagination
