17 month old DD had some raisins yesterday lunchtime and when she filled her nappy at tea time last night, some of the raisins came out, looking exactly the same as they went in.
The rest came out this morning exactly the same.

Should i be concerned about this? It's never happened before.

Yes perfectly normal. Makes me wonder sometimes if there is any point in giving them raisins and sweetcorn from a nutritional pov

I hate sweetcorn for this reason.

pepper bits too.

Yep, same here. And grapes too (if they're small enough). Makes me laugh.

The one I found more fascinating is those toy jumping beans that you get in crackers. If a toddler eats them they sick up the yucky plastic casing immediately and then the ball bearing comes out in the nappy the next day. I think that's clever!

Erm, actually I should add that I wasn't feeding ds2 jumping beans - I hadn't even given them to him or left them anywhere where he could reach them. But ds1 is a very generous boy ...

Raisins are freaky the way they swell up Was able to reassure a mother at swimming yesterday.

LOL - we couldn't work out why dd appeared to have rabbit droppings in her poo until we realised they must have been giving her raisins at nursery.

alternatively, beware thinking you have raisins on your kitchen floor when it's actually mice.

LOL same here with 9 months ds. Raisins, tomato and pepper skins, sweetcorn and whole peas coming through. DH gets annoyed and asks what the point is in feeding ds these items. I don't know if anything is absorbed, but at least they provide bulk in the poo.

Oh and cucumber seeds. These are cucumbers that I grew from seed and we were thinking about keeping them and replanting them next year . Only kidding, but I bet they would grow fantastically well after having been through a digestive system.

It's weird.. My DD was very sick last night & the only recognisable thing was her raisins she'd had at breakfast!

sorry to hear about your dd Mollymoomin but thank you everyone else for the reassurance. I've seen it with sweetcorn before but never raisins.
Why is it that sometimes she digests them fully and other times not at all? Does anyone know?

I have also identified poppy seeds (from bread) in ds's poo

Olives, tomato skins and red pepper can also be passed in 'bits'. Dark chocolate can also affect the colour.

What a lovely thread just before dinner!

If your mice are leaving raisin sized droppings, they're not mice!!
