Am I right in guessing there is no over-the-counter solution?

Just seems so ridiculous to have to go to the GP and by the time I actually get an appointment I reckon we will all have it.

Any advice/tips?

I use (and ave done since 12 months) brolene cream avail over the counter - it has worked well for us. Alternatively golden eye ointment. For you (or over 2s) you can get chloramphenicol drops from chemist without prescription (Optrex infected eyes). HTH

Breast milk also works a treat.

Unfortunately not lactating at the moment and probably not appropriate to ask a mate

I use camomile tea on DD (15months). Brew a cup of camomile tea fairly strong, allow to cool then wipe on the eye using clean cotton wool each wipe. Usually goes in about a day.

HTH/

Brolene is good. Or you could advertise for a lactating MNer!
