Anyone any miracle cures for constipation b4 i resort to asking DR for Lactulose?

My ds2 finds it tricky to go, have tried everything i can think of except prune juice. Tried this once with ds1 and had explosive recults so looking for something else. Obviously i will get some prunes/prune juice in if thats all there is to do!

Hes 14 months btw

orange juice?
or fruit smoothies?

you might need the prune juice to get it out this time, but regular oj and fruit seem to help mine on a day to day basis!

tried that, even tried not giving him so much fruit coz couldn't rememeber which way round it was!!

Would dried prunes do teh same thing? Only asking coz a) i know sainsburys do prunes but never seen prune juice and b) don't want to get a huuuge bottle if we're going to only use a little bit (super skint)

Is there anyway you could get him to eat a teaspoon of linseeds ? You just need to soak in water for about 5 mins, goes a bit soft & then you could add it to cereal.

Really does work wonders....I take a TBSP a day as I suffer when pregnant. You could also grind it up in a grinder & sprinkle on cereal.

My DD was on lactlose & it just makes the poo sludgy, so can still be difficult to pass. Sodium docusate worked wonders & I added it to her milk. She also saw a cranial ostepath, although it only went when she potty trained.

Other good foods include apples - sliced with the skin on, kiwi fruits, strawberries, pears (ripe ones) & pineapple (tinned is fine). Beware of bananas.

yes, just seeds - I soak them in water then add fruit juice & gulp in back...you could buy a small packet in Holland & Barratt - they'll be good for you anyway !

Try the fruit with breakfast - tinned pineapple is cheap, just make sure to buy it in juice.

let us know how you get on.

Ref the fruit - if it's watery, it'll be ok
