Am I being silly to be worried?

I really did think it should have gone down bu now but it seems to come from the bone (if that makes sense)

He is 8.5

Hmmmm perhaps arrange for a gp appt just to check it out.
If nothing else it'll put your mind at rest.

don't worry too much I think PP is right... take him to see you g.p strange but true the same thing happened to me when I was about the same age!!I was whacked in the shin with a golf club by another child!! I had my lump for years (or at least it felt that way) then one day it just disappeared!!?? went to the doctor she said it was fine and it would go but... it did take a long time.Smile

I shouldn't think so, but do think it's worth getting it checked out.

I fell down some steps on a boat (was a river boat party and i was drunk!) when I was at uni and banged my shin. I still have a slight bump now, 9 years later!

This is a bone bruise. Entirely normal. If it's not hurting, I wouldn't bother seeing anyone about it. Lots of stuff about it on the web.

I've got one at the moment too!! Had one many years ago (just clumsy I guess) and went to doctor who said oh yes you've got a classic footballers injury, dont worry it will go! Thanks very much. It did go but took years.
