as its been feeling sore for the past couple of weeks and i took my shoes off yesterday to walk on the grass and couldnt bend my toe is so painful. Dp had massaged it for me and its cracked so easily. i thought i had bunion or unless yes it is bunion?.

i can wear shoes/sandals that are hard sole so they arent bendy but it been like this since i bought a new pair of boots a while ago

what is it?

So it just hurts when you bend it, and pops when dp bends/massages?
How does it feel when you stand on tiptoe?

A bunion means your foot is actually misshapen at the joint where your big toe joins your foot - pictures \link{http://www.footandanklewest.com/bunions.htm\here}.

If it was fine before the new boots, it might be that the boots keep your toe in a position it's not used to - are they higher / flatter / pointier than you'd normally wear?
Do they rub anywhere?
When you put the boots on does the toe hurt more (meaning it hasn't got used to the boots yet), or less (meaning your feet have got so used to the boots they having trouble adapting to other shoes)?

Personally I'd avoid the boots for the moment and keep moving your toes gently to increase the blood supply and help whatever went wrong to heal.

i cant stand on tiptoed as its the pain is so unbearable!

both feets are in the shape and yes the boots were high heeled that i dont usually wear (or havent for a long time) as i either wear flats or 1in heel.v they didnt rub, the boots is wide so it didnt squashed my toes at all but its painful underneath the ball of my tow joint. i havent worn the boots since the weather gone warm but it doesnt help if im wearing flip flops style shoes!!. as i dont know what type of sandals to get atm!

i dont think its a bunion as the pain under the big toe where you bend the toe and directly on top too -ouch!

Wearing heels puts a lot of pressure on that joint of your big toe - if you avoid heels it should get better by itself, but do keep moving it about gently.
Taking ibuprofen will help, but if it's no better in a week see the GP as there's a slight possibility you might have damaged a tendon or something.

would u know how i managed to damaged my tendon ? it is simply cos ive worn heels? as ive worned other heels too and no problem but these boots - were they bad design maybe?

thanks for your advice MrsBadger and i will get some tabs tmrw

I had this last year with my silly pointy boots that I loved!! Haven't been able to wear them since Sad and spent weeks and weeks in sensible flat, wide shoes before the pain subsided unfortunately. I assumed the toe joint had become slightly arthritic because of the position it had been forced into, hmmptth!! Thought it was alright but bought a pair of trainers (yes trainers!!)last week that were quite narrow and it started again after about 2 hours - have had to give them away to sil. Not pleased but stuck with it I guess, unless someone knows different. So you are not alone.
