red colour in poo

dd who is 4.5 has just done a poo sorry if too much information, and it had red bits in it. I asked her if it hurt and she said a little but it looked quite soft.
Trying to think back on what's she's eaten last few days, she did eat quite a few cherry tomatoes yesterday but nothing else. Should I be worried, or just keep an eye?

was there blood on the toilet paper? possibly a little tear on her anus or failing that tomatoes or peppers in her poo

bright red? probably undigested tomato skin

blood in stools turns it black unless it is from anal fissures (small cuts) or similar in which case its blood-type streaks

I think that tomato skin is indigestible, so that's what it could be. Maybe best to keep an eye to make sure though.

Does it look like bits of cherry tom skins? My ds's poo looks like this when he's had red peppers!
Try not to worry, and look closely at the next one she does.

keep an eye
red bits sounds like tomato skin to me
bright red blood in poo is usually blood from just inside (iyswim), usually from hard poo / straining; so not normally life-threatening.
