For last 4 months ds (3 1/2 yrs) has had one bug after another - I know some of it is time of year but has anyone got any suggestions for giving him a bit of a boost. Would like to improve his diet but he is a picky eater, does have lots of fresh fruit though. Sleeps well. Any advice?

Us too dd is 3.4yrs, since xmas.... one thing after another antibiotics for pneumonia, tonsilitis, viral joint irritations a never ending snotty nose and cough.
We are now giving echinacea and acidopholus powder to try and assist, also boosting her protein by home making pates and mixing them in with her usual pasta or meal or on toast - she likes it :)
In the last 2 days she has perked up enormously -considering last week she was on penicillin drip for 12 hrs...
I do not know if its the extra bits or not but she is better than she has been for months.

Hi you can get multivitamins in chewable form. You can also get Minidex that you can take in medicine form (which tastes nice). That should boost him. HAs he started playgroup or nursery as that sometimes results in these viruses. I wouldnt worry about it though they go through phases of being unwell.

I give mine Bassets chewy vitamins and touch wood DD (6) (touch wood) has not had one single thing wrong with her all through the winter, not even a sniffle and last year she had colds every other month. Not sure if she is just becoming more resistant though as DS has had a snotty nose for almost two weeks now.

Oh i'm so glad its not just our ds! He is 3.4 and since September it has been one thing after another! Actually started a new nursery then so i guess it makes sense....

And poor mite has picked up worms for the second time! (We are clean family, wash hands after toilet, before meals etc etc!)

Thanks - I do give him vitamins. Will try echinacea - what is acidopholus? Not heard of Mindex either?

Just wanted to add that my ds (just turned 3) has been ill with one thing or another since Christmas. He started pre-school in Jan so I don't think this helped plus I'm a childminder so the germs just keep going round! Have been told by Dr that this year is one of the worst for viruses etc.

I may try boosting with vitamins etc. to see if that helps.
