Period type pains but not due on........

Over the last wk or so ive been experiencing on and off pains similar to period pains. Its not really painful just annoying more then anything. And I think my stomach looks really bloated or at least bigger then normally. I finished my period about a wk and half ago so im not due on and I dont think im pregnant. I cant really pinpoint exactly where the pain is but it does seem to be more on the right side. Any ideas what it could be?

That could be your appencix, it could just be grumbling or could be the start of apedicitus. Other thing to consider would be a uti, Any tummy pain that is sevre lasting more than a couple of hours should be checked by a gp.

Ive got a GP appointment but its not til next wk. Would it be similar to period pains though. Sometimes it aches down in my pelvic region too.

Hi mum2sam. I have the same symptoms & I'm being checked by G.P at the mo. I also experience a "stitch" like pain low down on the left. He gave me an internal yesterday & took swabs, he wants to rule out other things before he looks at irritable bowel...?

To both of you

Another possible cause of this may be endometriosis particularly if periods as well are very painful. The problem as well with this is that its not picked up through blood tests and swabs.

If your GP is not sure I would ask for a referral to a gynae for further evaluation.

Be careful if he mentions IBS - some cases of IBS are actually not this at all but endometriosis instead.

I agree with Sleeyjess. Before having ds, used to get the same pains as you describe. I started noting down whether they were LHS or RHS and found that it swapped month to month. Once or twice gat a bit of spotting then, too. Hope all is okay.
