35.5-37.5 are acceptable.

In children anything ver 38 is considdered a fever, depends what country you live in!

I thought what normal temperature was too. My dd had vomitting and diaorrea with a tempertaure of 38.7 all I knew was she felt very hot so took her to the doctors, why I see it if in doult I take them to the docs rather be told I was a narotic mother than to my dd or ds to become seriously ill.

Emmawil, you are so right, sometimes it is better not to rely on a thermometer but use your own instinct! tympanic thermometers can give a false low reading if the ear is full of was, so it is always better to check the back of the neck with the back of your hand. Like you say, when in doubt. Temp is just one indication that a bub isnt well.
glad she's on the mend podkin!

Agree Emmawill. I have 3 different thermometers and they all give different readings ! I am a bit less paranoid with dd than I was with ds now and tend to use the 'hand on head/back of neck' method as a starter. I don't really trust the ones you stick in your ear, and the strips on the forehead are rubbish - only ever seem to say 'normal'. dd was a bit hot last night but full of the joys of spring so wasn't all that worried.
