DD whimpered, cried, very clingy then fell asleep in her car seat. Brought her inside and put her to bed 30 minutes ago. Do I need to take her to the doctors? She has a small graze on her head but nothing else seems obviously wrong.. She doesn´t normally sleep in the morning.

Tke her to the hospital and keep an eye on her sleeping. Worth waking her up every hour, just to be sure. She could have concussion, or more serious injuries (which you can't nec see from the outside). Please get her to a&e, chances are she's fine, but take her just to be sure.

Take her to A&E - especially as she doesn't normally sleep in the morning. 5ft is quite a long way and 'better safe than sorry'

yep, take her - hope you're already on the way, let us know how she is, poor little mite. Expect you'll need a glass or ten of wine before bed tonight, what a worry. Sad

shouldnt let her go to sleep straight away esp when she banged her head as she might go into concussion... best to wake her up and keep her awake for a while ... till at least in the afternoon..

check her eyes. Make sure pupils are dilating properly and focusing.

my baba fell and hit her head very hard... after i calmed her down... she had a bottle and fell asleep very quickly..at first i couldnt wake her up but managed to wake her.....

was told by docs never let baba go asleep straight away..just hang on a bit

and even wearing an helmet isnt 100% safe as she can still have the concussion or not

hope she is ok Smile

how old is she btw?

Evg ok now, thank God. Thanks for helping. DD fell from a big toy horse not a real one, sorry. I called her doctor who told me to wake her after 30 minutes and check she was her normal self. SHE IS!!! I´m a nervous wreck though!

Thanks everyone, is so lovely that you are out there to help!

would agree that 5 ft is a long way for a toddeler to fall and am glad she's ok and you spoke to your dr.
however it is a myth that you should not let someone with a bang on the head sleep. it is very normal for anyone with a head injury to be sleepy. serious sings are is the person is unrousable, doesnt kick you off when you tickle her feet. or persistant vomiting blurred vision, fluid coming from nose of ears and black eyes. (more infor on NHS 24 web site) but it is natural for them to want to sleep. just check she is rousable.

...oh dear... I fell 5ft from a real horse at weekend and landed flat on back.

I had hard hat and back protector on, and think the hat saved a lot of serious damage. I landed on hard gound and really hurt my back.

Where/how did she land?
