URGENT! (sort of) Can I go and see my friend and her newborn if dd1 has the pox?

I would obviously visit on my own, but would I inadvertantly infect either her dd2 or (horrors) the newborn?

I had planned to be an extra pair of hands for the school run/toddler groups etc so can I still do this?

its only a prob if you havent had chickenpox yourself and could be carrying it.

see, I can't remember if I have or not.

Balls. She needed my help but mainly I wanted to snuggle her new baby boy Envy.

Don't think I will risk it tbh.

very unlikely you'd pass it on 3 rd hand unless you are about to develop it yourself.

Anyone you can ask if you have had it- parents or family?

This happened to me, my dd was 8 weeks old and i went to visit my SIL in hospital who had just had her little boy, her friend had taken her 3 yo in and my dd ended up with CP (even though she stayed with my mum while i went) me and dh have both had CP when kids, and this must have been passed on through us.So in other words...i wouldn't risk it.

Sorry if all that sounds confusing lol.

Having said that my nephew (newborn) didn't get the CP and he was in the same room as infected child, they have the immunity from the mother i think.
