When should I worry about light/dry-ish nappies?

I wonder if there is anybody out there that might be able to help me...

my ds (9 months) has started nursery in the last couple of weeks (just 2 days/week) and has had a bit of a cold but nothing serious, took him to the dr who said he was OK, just to carry on taking the medised and tixylix that I was giving him x2/day for his snotty nose and cough, that his lungs were clear.

However, over the last 36 hours I have noticed that ds's nappies are not very heavy, he doesn't seem to be peeing very much. To start with I put it down to the fact that he hadn't drunk as much as he usually does (nursery settling in / snotty nose I assumed) but as I was putting him to bed this evening I realised that he hasn't had a 'decent' wet nappy at all today. There's been a little bit of pee - but nowhere near the amount that he would usually do and he has managed to drink an almost usual amount today.

Sorry if this is tmi but I'm sitting here and wondering if I am worrying about nothing or if I should be calling the gp or if I should be just keeping a watching eye for a day or two. Just wondering where all the liquid can be going! (he hasn't had a temperature in this time and doesn't seem overly sweaty).

I've tried looking in the archives but can't find anything...

thanks in advance for your help!

See how he is in the am but try getting lots of fluids down him - his fluids will probably be going to make his snotty nose!
If he doesn't want his usual milk / water and you are worried, give him some fruit juice of some sort - no added sugar type
He'll wolf that down, I'm sure

is his wee particularly strong/smelly?

Thanks for that.

He seems to be OK drinking milk, will try to get some juice in as he will drink maybe an oz of water at a time but no more.

got to the point that there doesn't appear to be any wee (definitely no colour or smell) but he's also started having mega heavy diarrohea so assume that is where the water is going.

have spoken to the on call gp who basically said not to worry for now as he seems chirpy, just get as much water into him as possible and avoid milk for up to 6 hours after he has a diarrohea attack, to try to get 4-6oz water into him each hour he is awake, using the baby rehydration juice if possible.

thanks again
