Im having physio, and had a xray two weeks ago (waiting on results to get to my doctors). Im in agony, still using crutches and the support belt, can hardly walk, if i stand for more than a minute, i have pains shooting up my spine and all around me hips. Im on really strong painkillers which make my dizzy and tied, and sizk, but i need them to take the edge of the pain.
Is there anything else i can do/take. Ive also started with St johns wart to help me with the mild depression.

Glucosamine is a mineral you can buy in boots or health food shops, it is the only thing known that helps to re-build cartlage. (It can be expensive) Yu need to be taking >1500mg per day. It can take a while to work but it does work.
My friend had a similar prob, have you had an ultrasound/xray?

Tured out my friend had a pubic rami #, this is one of the bones at the bottom of the pelvis. Afriad even if this is it, not much that can be done EXCEPT REST. Easier said than done with a 4 month old baby!
Are you taking any other pain killers or antiinflammitories?
Do you have help at home?

The reason things take so long to get back to normal is because the hormone relaxin which makes your soft tissues loose, it still active after you give birth.
Make sure an orthopoedic consultant is put in charge of your care,
Please don't think I'm patronising, but paracetamol,in conjunction with other pain killers actually gives very good pain releif. It is fine to take with tramadol.
If you understand teh way that pain works in the body,
you get an inj (for example SPD) the nerves surrounding the inj fire and cause pain (to let you know there's a problem) Sometimes pain gets worse, not because the inj is getting worse, but just beacuse the inj is still there. (this is called chronic pain). The best way to deal with this is to take REGULAR pain medication. Do NOPT wait till your sore, your pain is more difficult to manage then.
Have you tried accupunture?
Take all the help you can get.
Glucosamine with help to strengthen and heal the pubic symphis cartillage.
Hope it makes you fell better to know df is now back at work (her ds is 7 months old,) not a sign of a crutch. It did get better for her and it started to round about this time.
