hiya, DS 3yrs has viral conjunctivitis and has been perscribed eye drops twice a day,
the thing is he is fighting me which I was expecting, I have tried giving them when he's asleep - he wakes up, distracting him, holding him but just screws up his eyes really tight. any tips, or is there an oral medication I could get him?

Thanks

GP told me that even one little drop on a shut eye would be fine.

ask for the cream instead - it's much much easier to smear cream on than administer eye drops, ime...

although, thought drops only useful if bacterial as opposed to viral?

I used to lie dd on her side, put them on the bridge of her nose or the corner of her eyelid and let them run in.

it is like a cream, I will smear it on his eye when closed.
poor thing has been waking up on a morning with an eye glued shut and looks very sore.
Thanks so much for your replies

get the drops on his closed eyes but try to keep him lying down until he opens them so the drops go in. been through this several times with both dd & ds.
