Contraception failure- what didn't work for you?

Following on from the sterilisation after c-section thread, I've noticed that not a few women get pregnant whilst using the coil. I was recently told I owe my existence to a faulty coil and am now rather daunted as to what I should rely on for contraception now I have a small baby and am in no hurry to conceive again (if ever!).

My question is this- what didn't work for you and was it simply a failure of method or willpower?

the rhythm/safe period method! a combination I think of not counting well enough and lack of willpower.

DS1 was the result of a 5 hour late mini pill, so guess that one was my fault!
When I fell pregnant with DS2 I was on the combination pill & am still not sure to this day what I did wrong, as I didn't appear to have missed a pill that month.

Rudolph - with Pill I think the PG rate is 1 per 100 every year when taken properly - someone has to be that 1 in a 100 and looks like it was you...

Typical!!!
H had the snip when DS2 was 3 months old, so I think with the combination of that & the fact bed is for sleeping only these days, we will now be safe!!!

condoms for us!

in fact we've had unprotected sex once and have 2 children and even that was at a low risk time!

We were the failure. Usually condoms but got drunk on holiday and didn't bother. 9 months later ds comes along. Bless him

Nearly died of shock

Wouldn't change it now though. Obviously
