Getting really worried about DT2 Please help ...... Long sorry

As many of you know Dt2 has a lot of wee isuues. I will give a quick recap for those who have not yet read my tale.

Twins were born at 29 weeks. Twin 2 came out with apgar score of 2. Boys were ventilated but twin2 came on so well he got t/f from neonatal to a hospital near home. He was doing pretty good up until Jan of this year-just before his 1st b/day.

In Jan out of the blue he stopped breathing. Thankfully he was ok but enough to scare us. Docs at hospital said his throat looked a bit big?
We had been noticing that since starting solids he was choking on his food and when drinking it sounded like he was gulping-really rough loud sound.

Ok- phew!!!!!

Has seen ENt who say not the tonsils, seen gastroenterologist who are going to be doing a barium within the next few weeks.

We are still waiting his appt with a dietician, he weighs 23lb and is 23 months. And also a refferal to the family unit at special needs school for an assesment as his co-ordination + development is poor.

Lately-about last month, we have noticed he is like dragging his left leg when he walks, almost like 1 leg is shorter than the other. His clumsiness has gotten much worse and he has crackin bruises on his head from today. he can be walking along and bang out of no-where he is on the ground, almost like mr soft.

I feel I should be going back to the doctors as I am really worried but don't want the usual overreactive mother comment.

What would you do?????

PLease help

I'd go back to the doctor. I'm sure they won't make any comments like that - I've certainly only ever heard my GP say that mothers are almost invariably right. Also, even if you did get a 'comment', is that more important than your child's health? Of course not! You know your son better than ANYONE and you know something is different.

Get him back to the doctors, there is a change in his condition.
Only good mothers overreact

I would have him seem by the GP again asap. I never like to think of a child who is suddenly more clumsy going unseen.

Don't worry about being seen as a paranoid mother. You know him better than anyone else and if you are worried then there is likely good reason to worry. HTH.

Sorry that you are having a rough go. It is so hard when your child is unwell and you feel helpless.

Ok went to docs today. He asked for josh to walk about which he did and also fell over 4 times. Asked for him to be stripped of his trouisers, socks shoes again wanted him to walk around, which he did and fell 4 times.

Docs are going to chase up the appt at assesment centre and also h/v for his background

Said he will phone later on in the week to advise whether assesment appt will be brought forward or if community paeds need to be brought in so still none the wiser at this time.

Also phone gastro again to find out when this barium will be done who said"we dont issue that appt, xray do phone them" so i did only to be told they have had no card yet for an appt. so back to gastro again and a message left with the secreatary to tell doc i have called AGAIN!!!!
