Setting up simple website

I know there's another thread below, but don't want to hijack that, and also what I need is different (I think).

I want to set up our own website for a holiday chalet we rent out. All I'll need is space for approx a dozen pictures, text, the ability to have dates available and cost in some sort of grid/boxes which can be updated as we take bookings, and the ability for people viewing it to click and email me at home email address. Basically the main text won't alter but I want to be able to alter and update the information regarding availbility.

My internet provider is BTinternet.com - can I do it through them? Some other questions...how do I sort a website address? Then how do I link the page/s to that and "publish" it? How much will it cost? And finally, where do I start? I am a TOTAL beginner in this area, but pretty good at persevering and figuring things out, so willing to have a crack at most things! TIA!

dreamweaver is the package that enables you to "make" webpages. A bit like you get an excel package to do your finance and word to type letter and documents you get a dreamweaver package to write your webpages.

It may be best if you can do an eve course at college to learn how to use the package and set up your own webpages.

Dreamweavers are not cheap to buy, you need one though or similar to make the webpages.

Try the library for a book or two on dreamweaver and how to use it, but without the package it will all be a little abstract to try to work out.

You can get a complete package from a low cost host.

This means registering a domain name, and getting space on a shared server. Many hosts also have very easy to use templates, which you can edit and upload at the same time.

I recently set up a site using www.one.com.

I picked the free domain/free hosting (starts costing after a year) option, and only had to pay about £10 as a registration free.

It is very easy to use.

Worth talking to someone about how to set it up/design it so that you stand a good chance of being found when people are Googling. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) I think this is called.

If the website is to generate business/revenue for you then it will be really worth spending the money on this.

We have recently seen a company who will be re-designing our website for us (because we went very wrong with much of this - focused only on what it looked like) and they are very good and seem to offer very good value for money. And she is a MNetter too!

If you want their details, CAT me and I'll pass on their phone number.
