what has happened to our freesat?

Channel 4 and 5 have disappeared and am currently watching Central Tonight News when we live in London!

Umm yes I was about to ask the same question! So pleased it's not just our box! We also live in London and getting Central W news. Also missing C4 and 5

There was an article on digitalspy the other week, with a link to another article,I read it becasue ours had gone funny.

this is it. It is more to do with changes to the EPG on freeview boxes, but if you read the article and the forum links, it gives you some ideas on what could be the problem, it certianly helped fix ours

staryeyed is yours back now? Ours is still missing.
Thank you saltire I've had a look through the forums but I presumed as there are two of us with the same problem on the same day that it must be a fault with Sky/Freeview.
We actually cancelled our Sky subscription a few months ago so only receive the Freeview channels now. I wasn't sure whether to phone them or not because of this? They might not help me?

If you post the name/model someone may know if it's possible to do a factory reset. If not then you are stuck with the Teletext Extra bugs until you they fix it or you buy a different freeview box that isn't affected so badly.

If you can factory reset it then say no to the offer of an update (turn off updates if your box allows that)

Is Teletext Extra the freeview you get on Sky? I'm completely clueless I'm afraid. We've always had Sky until we had to cut back on costs. We haven't changed our box or anything, just don't get the channels you pay for anymore.
It's a Thomson Sky Digibox DV3

we phoned sky and they said they would send through the signals. Not back yet though.

They have to find the bug, fix it and then send out an update. I don't know how long that will take. It depends how many paying customers it affects I suppose.

I couldn't find a way to reset the Thomson Sky Digibox DV3 other then simply unplugging it for a bit which won't remove the latest faulty software update.

btw I'm told the 'DV3' is actually a stylised 'DVB' and not part of the model number at all. If it's fairly new it will probably be a DSI4212 apparently

Well, you're not going to believe this, I phoned Sky and they took me through trying to fix the problem. Then I notice the blardy viewing card is in the interactive slot instead of the viewing card slot. Soooooo ! So, that seemed to be the problem. I just didn't think to check because it never ever gets moved. DS must have been playing with it.
Coincidence that we both had the same problem on the same day though staryeyed Have you checked your viewing card? Just in case?
