how do I get broadband upstairs?

We have broadband in the house through a BT Voyager 2500v unit. It's connected to the PC which is downstairs, and my laptop has wifi (I think) so it connects up to it itself (usually).
My DS has been given a second hand laptop (Toshiba 1800-700) which doesn't appear to have wifi and I want him to be able to get online in his bedroom.
What do I do? I'm sure I have to buy something but I'm not sure what.

Is that the same as a usb wireless adapter? There's one of those on Amazon for £12.

Looks like it's this www.toshiba-europe.com/computers/products/notebooks/satellite1800_700/techspecs.htm, so you probably have USB and need something like www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-802-11g-Wireless-Network-Adapter/dp/B0006374PK/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=electron&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21 ics&qid=1228857830&sr=1-6.

NOTE: The links suggests it will work with Windows 98SE, but the tech details suggest that it requires Windows 2000. The Satellite 1800-700 originally came with Windows ME, which may not be compatible.

You could also use www.amazon.co.uk/Netgear-WAG511-Wireless-32-bit-CardBus/dp/B0000ATCZ1/ref=sr_1_22?ie=UTF8&s=electron&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21 ics&qid=1228857889&sr=1-22. That's more expensive, but definitely supports Windows ME.
