Google Chrome showing old web pages

When using Google Chrome, is there a reason why when I enter a web address I wouldn?t be seeing the most up to date version of a site?

We updated our company website yesterday ? when I type the web address into Explorer, I see the new pages. When I do so in Chrome, I?m looking at the old pages prior to our changes. Eventually I went in and cleared the cache and search history etc, and then it worked, but I don?t think it?s reasonable to expect anyone who wants to use the site to have to do that before they see our uploads!
