you need to log into your router, look under "security" and set a password

does teen dd know how to do that?

If not look in instructions that came with router- there will be an address (list of numbers and dots) you can put into your browser which should allow you into your router.

open a DOS prompt (go to START > RUN type COMMAND)
type "tracert www.mumsnet.com"
the first set of numbers that it returns - write it down
open your internet browser
type first set of numbers into your browser
that should open up your router interface

you can also do things like hide your ssid so that the neighbours can't even see the name of your network it was easy for me to do on mine, just unticked the box that said 'broadcast ssid' under security
