I have a question about digital cameras and printer docs. Can anyone help please?

I am probably being really thick here. I need a new digital camera. I have just been looking at the ones with a printer doc, like the idea of being able to print my pics. Can you still plug these cameras into the pc and download pics there? I really have no idea, just did a quick search on google and couldn't see anything. Thanks

yes you can ,most cameras will come with the correct lead to do this,In my printer though, i can just put the little card directly into my printer and get the photos that way.does your printer have little slots ready for memory cards ?
