Geeky stuff

Our email addy is shared, but it comes from him. Can someone tell me, when an email plonks it self into someones inbox, how to make it so it says it's from X and X surname, rather than Hsurname?

You could write in the subject title - FROM x.

But why not just get your own email address???

All email packages have a setting where you put the name that want to appear to the recipient. This is different to the actual address ([email protected]). Usually people put their first and second name, but it could be anything, such as two names in your case.

If you use Outlook, go to tools, email accounts, change the account, and change the setting in Your Name.

Thanks. Will either of you be around after 8.50? The email is my account, but H has changed it so it just says From: H surname. I tried to change it back but it just asked me a question to which I don't know the answer.

If you are around later I can MN questiions from the laptop while trying to do it on the main PC.

Who are you with? I'm with btopenworld, and it's part of the service to have up to 4 distinct email addresses. You can set up your outlook to pick them all up, so it's not a hassle to keep track of.
