Hi, didn't know where to put this!

Does anyone know how I can set up a power point presentation?

I have some sort of software on this pc that I can watch powerpoint, does this mean I can also set it up?

If I can, by some sort of miracle & by the help of a kind MN'er, get it sorted...then how do I transfer it off my pc onto the one at university where I have to do the presentation

If I do do overheads, can I print them on my home printer on the overhead pages or do I need something special.... writing on them in my own writing would look crap!

If you want to creat a presentation, you need to have MS Office - Powerpoint. You can get a free viewer to watch Powerpoints, but this doesn't allow you to create your own.

You can download a free equivalent to MS Office, called Open Office, and this includes presentation software.

Thanks ss, how will I know if I have ms office I'll look at the desktop & see if I have it!

I'm sure the pc's at uni will have them though! If you know how to do it I could print out the instructions & do it in the uni pc tomorrow.........

I really have to learn this stuff!

your uni pcs should have MS powerpoint it will be under MS Office, if you own pc has it thats great, you can save it onto a memory stick(if you dont have one your uni should sell them) and transfer to uni pc. here is a great little tutorial that will talk you through using MS powerpoint. Good Luck

Dh has it on his laptop we think! I just have the software to view power point, not set it up. I'll use university pc tomorrow! I'll save that tutorial! Thanks

If you want to have a high end package, with equivalents to Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access, I recommend you download Open Office. It is a genuinely free software, and you can save your files to the Microsoft equivalents for use elsewhere.
