Yahoo emails have disappeared since joining iCloud and I can't find my home insurance details

Back in February I created an iCloud account as my iPad suggested I should! My emails prior to this date disappeared. I assumed it was just on my apple products but now I need an email and I discover they are gone one my (non apple) laptop as well. Apple say it is a yahoo issue but I know it can't be as literally all my emails got wiped that day. Yahoo say emails cannot be retrieved after 7 days. So the difficulty is that the email I need is about my house insurance. I had saved the details on my laptop but then that got corrupted! Help! Any ideas? Or any idea how I find out who I am insured with? I can't remember! I am in a technical nightmare farce. Thanks

You've prob already done this but on your phone/iPad you do have all mail selected don't you not just icloud mail?
