BTConnect email and the iPhone - never the twain shall meet?

Hi,

I have just upgraded to the iPhone 5 and am trying to set up my BTConnect email on it. It caused me massive problems on my old 3GS, again when BT 'upgraded' to 365 and now I simply cannot get it to work.

I have tried all the advice I can find online from BT but none of it works. The error message I get is that my email address isn't recognised. I have checked on my laptop and it works fine there.

I am seriously considering just forgetting it and making a gmail account.

Can anyone help before I have to go and change my email address all over the place?

Thanks in advance

Looks like it has to be a new email address then.

Ach well

You can probably get your BT Connect email forwarded to your new gmail address or vice-versa.

Me, I have my own domain. It costs peanuts, certainly compared to an iPhone and makes it easy to change providers and forward emails wherever I want.

£8.50 gets you a domain for 2 years with 10 forwarding addresses. Another £10 p.a. gets you spam filtering and unlimited email forwarding.

Thanks cruel. That is a really good idea.

I did get it working in the end but DH who administers the account had to fiddle.

The domain idea and forwarding mail from Btconnect is a good one - I only keep my Btconnect one because it is just my name.
