Recommendations for scanner

I need to get a scanner & will upgrade to a combined scanner/printer. Imam looking at a Canon Pixma, has anyone got any recommendations? I would use it with a Toshiba laptop (Windows 7 os) but like the idea of being able to print wireless from the iPhone & iPad.
Thank.

We've just got an Epson Workforce printer/scanner which we are very pleased with - ours is one of the bigger ones - the WF-7525 as DH needs to scan A3 documents and it also does duplexing, but there's a whole range of them. We print wirelessly to it from all our iStuff as well as a windows pc.

I have had most over the years, and found that the most reliable is an HP (reliable = don't jam...lol). There are so many variations on the market that it depends what u want it for, such as documents, photos by the one or two or the dozs. I have a HP5510 which is wireless and I understand it can print from any wireless device. Only used it wirelessly from my laptop. Scanner used and seems ok. Suggest look at one u like in the shops/online and then google its handbook, this will enable you to see what its capabilities are.
Hope this is food for thought.

Thank you both. That is exactly what I did. Off later on to browse the shop & pick something up.
I used to have a huge HP printer, scanner, fax that also did A3 size. I was pleased to get rid of it as it was heavy & took up lots of room. I don't print that much, but do need to scan some documents & think I will use this as an opportunity to archive all the papers I am supposed to retain for x years.
