What trailers to use?

Have attempted to put some borders in my garden but kids keep throwing the soile everwhere.
Someone suggested putting trailing plants in baskets and attatching to fence to cover it up, as kids would not reach them.
Any suggestions for trailing plants to put up now that will grow fast?
