When can you pick mangetout?

I think we are growing mangetout or maybe sugar snap peas. This is our first attempt at growing our own and we stupidly chucked the label!
The pea pods look good, swelling up a bit - very obviously not going to be the type of peas you pod. When can we pick them?
How can you tell if they are ripe?

So much easier with the strawberries!

I pick them as soon as they get to be a respectable size and eat them raw. yum! You can't get much better imo.

Enjoy

Mangetout will develop into peas. Pick when it looks like mangetout i.e flat, if that's what you are after or leave until pods develop. Yum!
