Budding gardeners, am I supposed to cover up my pots to stop them freezing?

Should I be wrapping up my lovely terracotta pots in fleece to stop them cracking/flaking even though they said 'frost resistant' on them?
Realise it's a bit late now since there was snow on the ground this morning....

I have just done mine last night with a bit of sacking, just to be on the safe side. Better late than never. Perhaps wait until the frost has gone and then do yours?

I never bother (and have had some damage with bits of pot flaking off, but I think that's because they weren't properly frostproof). I think it's more important to make sure the pot isn't waterlogged, as it's the expansion of frozen compost that does the most damage. Make sure the pots are on bricks/pot feet and not sitting in saucers.

If the drainage is good they should be OK. Placing them near to the house and avoiding any frost pockets you have in the garden will help too.
