I hate the look of grow bags. Can i plant up my broccoli and cauliflour in one of those long planters instead.
Ant tips on where or what to plant my veg in a small garden would be great as i am rapidly running out of room and will have to do a stall at market i think !

DH is growing his "big" veg like potatoes, carrots and onions in the veg patch. All his salad veg; leaves, tomatoes, spring onions, spinach etc are being grown in long window box type containers (although they are quite shallow), which is handy as they can come in and out of doors if necessary.

You can use large pots and planters for potatoes and carrots for sure, so presumably also for broccoli and cauliflower if they're large enough.

Some of our tomatoes are for growing in hanging baskets. He grew them from seed, so a bit late for sewing this year, but worth considering next year.

Thanks twelveyeargap-
I am growing spuds in spud bags and everything else in pots.
I think i`ll just have to buy some more pots -the long type but its getting expensive
.I might try just putting a few veg in the spaces i have left in the borders and hope the slugs dont get them !

Try to be creative in what you use. Doesn't have to be an official "pot"!

Look for any large containers of any sort with holes or something you can make holes in. We have various old buckets around that have rotted at the bottom or cracked. They are now planters. An old wheelbarrow, sinks - have a rummage in your shed. Try the local tip. Post of freecycle.

I think a variety of shapes add charm, its recycling and its free!
