Training passionflower over gate

I have trellis either side of a 6ft gate and my passionflower's decided to grow across the top of the gate which looks quite attractive.

Can anyone suggest something I can attach above the gate to support it? I started off with a bit of wire but it's collapsed Blush and keeps getting in the way of the gate.

The trellis either side is also 6ft so I'm thinking a piece of flexible metal or plastic that I can screw either side to create a curve which mimics the top of the gate.

I can't remember if passionflower survives the winter (I'm in the SE). I suppose I might end up with a dead mass above the gate Grin

Straight option: if there is room to run a wire, what about a Gripple wire? It's way easier to install and tension than ordinary wire, and pretty strong. Would that work?

Otherwise, I guess we're into the realms of fashioning something from metal and fastening it on! Bent copper piping? Some artfully sprayed alkathene pipe fastened to dowels?
