Large planters and tubs suitable for growing veg - where to get?

Where can you get these, especially online? As big as poss, and deep enough for basics like carrots, onions, potatoes etc, thinking long rectangular / cuboid tubs. Would like portable planters with solid edges, rather than grobags in case of having to move house. Don't want to have to put off trying this because of that - would like to try and get the hang of it with 2 or 3 containers before possibly doing more.

want to find out more, but not sure if these should have a separate thread, or better on another forum somewhere:

  • finding varieties that grow quickly
  • keeping away pests without using pesticides. Not sure if would actually pay extra for organic seeds and compost but don't want to put pesticides and weedkiller on them at home.

I have grown potatoes, beans, beetroot and courgettes in very large plastic pots from cheap shops like Poundstreatcher. The best selection is available in the spring, but they are discounting the season left overs, at the moment.

Galvanised steel dustbins make v smart planters.

Or you could try Poundstretcher

Cheers. They are not the shape I was looking for - but several of those could make sense, having seen the prices of the ones that were...

£195? I didn't know Wilkinsons stocked anything that was £95, never mind £195.

Oh, this is almost the sort of thing, and reasonably priced, though I hoped they might be a bit longer:

Height 25cm, depth 30cm - too shallow?
The Wilko tub is depth 44cm height 40cm though

I've got cucumbers growing successfully in Poundland square containers this year. Tesco have some deep, round plastic pots for £4 at the moment. I have seen wooden grow bag containers, with a trellis on the back at car boots, but that is a bit local. They are easily made with lengths of decking though.
