Please help me disguise this large mound in my garden!

Hi,
I would love to pick someone's brains over this!
For years I have had a pile of earth/builders rubble at the edge of my lawn which is near a wall and our patio. It has established grass over it which I trim down with a strimmer so it now looks like a three foot high grassy mound..
I can't get it removed at present but would love to disguise it somehow!
At the moment I have set some large stones into it and have a few pots on it in steps.
Should I continue with the pots or go for a rockery? Any other ideas?
I have thought of growing ivy up the wall behind it to blend it all in better.. It just kind of looks a bit weird so would like to make it look like it is meant to be there!

I'd go for a rockery, my PIL turned theirs into a water feature. I say "turned" I'm not sure if they actually had to build the mound themselves, but it sounds about the same size as yours. They've grown ferns and grasses and stuff between the rocks too

Thank you - was thinking that may be for the best. When your PIL did theirs, did they put black sheeting over it first before the rocks? I have never done one before so I assume you do it that way and then cut through it for any plants/grasses you want between the rocks? Thanks!

How about using it as a hardcore base for a structure? You spread it, tamp it down so it's flat, and then put a small arbour or summerhouse on it.

Thank you Shove, two good suggestions from this thread! Have been interested in a cobb house and a rockery, so great ideas Smile
