Totally with you on this one!
I make every excuse in the book to get DH to always get stuff out of it instead of me going anywhere near it as I am positive that its home to all sorts of creepy crawlies!!

Yes, it makes my skin crawl every time I have to go in. I'm never in there for more than a nanosecond all because of spiders.

Pathetic really.

I'm the same I HATE Spiders. I can't go in the loft or shed. There was a huge one on our landing this morning. I ran screaming and trod on (or in, YUK) a dead rabbit the cat had brought in.

Just realised that this post paints a lovely picture of what my house must be like!

I hate my garden shed and garage. Once I got locked in the garden shed at the end of the garden in my old house. My eldest (who is now 13) was a baby in a pram. I had gone indoors, left her in the pram in the front room while I went to the garden shed to get something (can't remember what). Got in the garden shed, the door shut on me and I couldn't open it. Panicked because of baby in the house (in her pram asleep) and smashed the window to climb out. How I didn't injure myself, I don't know. When I phoned my (now ex) husband hysterical to tell him I was locked in the garden shed and couldn't get out, he asked why I didn't turn the handle on the door rather than smash the window.

I just panicked because of spiders and had to get out of there a.s.a.p. and the only thing I could think of doing was smashing the window.

I sooo understand.

I love gardening and doing little bits of diy, but my fear of the shed really puts a downer on this sort of thing! Dp often works weekends, and i have to wait until he's around to rescue me in case anything attacks me.

Its not just the spiders, there could be mice, rats and all sorts of bugs. There could even be a snake after seeing the snake in my compost thread! Shock.

The longer time that goes by when i havn't seen any of these things in my shed the easier it is, and then all goes back to square one when i find something again Sad.

I am. But not because of spiders and inssects. I am scared that something huge and heavy may fall on top of me if I open the shed door (tis a tip)

I would never have a garden shed because of the spiders reason! If we did have one, or even one of those children's wooden houses, I wouldn't go inside one. Not a chance. I have too many bad memories of spiders lurking in them from my childhood.

Yes completely agree sheds are v scary places, only go in ours if absolutely necessary, and is only small (but would still be big enough to house ginormous spiders)! Its taken me over a year to even peep into our cellar!
