Great news, got 4 conditional offers and one unconditional to study marketing/ advertising

Puzzled why she has been offered unconditional, she is currently doing Business btec national and A level art, and on target to get excellent results,

Some unis are worried they won't recruit enough students so are giving out unconditional offers in the hope of buying loyalty.

It's a self defeating strategy as you can see.

It's essentially unis trying to improve their 'conversion rate' - that is, the proportion of people who get an offer that actually go and do the degree course.

It's a marketing tactic, and she shouldn't let it change her decision making process. If this uni was always going to be her firm / insurance, then fine, but otherwise ignore it.

BTEC is all course work so someone consistently getting distinctions is unlikely to drop to a pass towards the end.

By this time of year she should have about 12-15 units under her belt.

But agree it shouldn't influence her choice.
